Make Money Online
With Content Websites
They don't call the internet the "information superhighway" for nothing!
Nowadays, people search the world wide web for all types of information. "Google" is now a verb.
Need a quick crock pot recipe? Just google "crock pot recipe". Need to know which annuals do well in the shade? Do a search. Need to get a squirrel out of your attic? Just google "squirrel attic" (unfortunately, I know this from personal experience).
Everybody knows a little--or a lot--about something. So why not take your area of expertise--or passion, or hobby, or interest--and turn it into a content website?
Provide the information people need, and give them the opportunity to purchase quality resources or products based on your recommendations. It's a win-win situation.
With content websites, you establish yourself as a credible expert and build relationships with your online visitors and customers, 24/7 and 365 days a year.
How do content websites work?
You build a website full of free information and recommended product links.
Visitors search for information using keywords in search engines like Google and Yahoo!.
Because your site is built around keywords people are using to search (thanks to thorough research on your part) your website is listed on the first page of search results.
Visitors click on the links in the search results and end up on your site.
Your site is easy to read, easy to navigate, friendly and helpful. Your visitor stays, reads, clicks, signs up for your newsletter, and hopefully clicks on an ad or affiliate link.
Your visitors get the information they need. You earn income. Voila!

How much money can I make?
The sky's the limit. There are folks making six-figure incomes with content websites, and folks making hardly anything. So much depends on the individual, and the website topic.
You probably won't get rich quick. It takes some time for traffic to build. But if you take the time to plan correctly and position your website properly in terms of the search engines, you have an excellent chance of finding your site highly ranked and generating traffic and income.
With thoughtful planning and some hard work up front you can earn a very nice passive income with content websites.
One quick note--make sure you have an income goal. It's important to track your site's statistics and income results, then tweak to achieve desired results. If you don't know what your desired results are, it makes it all that much harder to know which tasks to tackle first or which strategic decisions to make concerning your site's content and maintenance.
How do I know what my website should be about?
This is where I do a little advertising. It is my personal opinion (after doing this since 2003) that SiteBuildIt! offers a superior product for beginners who have no idea where to start. Part of their all-in-one package is a process that walks you through researching and choosing a topic you not only enjoy, but one that has adequate demand and potential for income.
Building a website is similar to a brick-and-mortar business. We all know businesses with great concepts that failed because of location, or lack of demand, or competition, or other factors that weren't taken into consideration before the owners set up shop.
If you choose to use SBI!, they'll walk you through the process of choosing a website topic, as well as a domain name. (Believe it or not, your domain name matters to search engines, and can go a long way towards helping you build traffic faster.)
You'll begin with your passions but then work through a thorough process of keyword research to discover whether your interests are profitable enough to build a business around. You'll narrow down your choices until you can be reasonably sure you've found a niche with enough income potential to meet your goals.
(For an in-depth look at the SBI! process, you can read word-for-word from the same manual SBI! owners use to set up their sites. Just click here and then read from the Intro through Day 2.)
If you decide not to use SBI!, simply begin by making a list of your hobbies and interests. Don't be afraid to include topics you like but aren't "expert" in, because you'll become an expert as you research and build your site!
Are you a caregiver for your elderly parents? Do you have a large family or multiples? Are you crazy for jigsaw puzzles? You get the picture. Have at least three to four topics on hand that interest you
Now it's time to measure interest in your topic. There are two tools you'll definitely want to use:
WordTracker
Google Keywords Tool
Analyze, but don't overanalyze. Get ready, decide...and then start building!
I want to see proof that this works.
No problem!
